Location: 113A
While most behavioral healthcare clients do not pose a risk of violence, some do. Potentially violent clients can range from those who are quite agitated in the moment to those who are subtly threatening. So, at times it can be important to quickly evaluate risk and make decisions about what to do next, using an evidence-based process. This presentation, in the context of real life examples, includes discussion of (1) warning signs for interpersonal violence risk, (2) a process for deciding on next steps to reduce risk and injury and (3) relevant risk management principles.
Learning Objectives:
Identify evidence-based warning signs of interpersonal violence risk.
Identify warning signs that require immediate action.
