Engaging, informative, and inspiring, this presentation will provide attendees with a dynamic presentation of Integrated Illness Management and Recovery (IIMR), the only truly integrated mental and physical health curriculum available to community mental health centers that teaches people with serious mental illness about the relationship between mental and physical health and how to manage them better together. Attendees will not only receive a detailed description of the intervention components, but also information about what is required to successfully launch IIMR, including practical lessons learned over the past two decades from implementation of the program across the United States.
Learning Objectives:
After this presentation, attendees will be able to discuss the primary factors that put people with serious mental illness at greater risk compared to the general population for multiple morbidities and early mortality.
Attendees will be able to describe key components of the only truly integrated health curriculum for people with comorbid chronic mental and physical health conditions: Integrated Illness Management and Recovery.
Attendees will learn how to implement IIMR in community-based practice settings.
