SAMHSA’s updated CCBHC Criteria requires communities to provide crisis receiving stabilization services 24/7/365. Learn how the newly updated National Guidelines establish definitions and standards in a tiered manner for “A Safe Place for Help,” so that communities can establish crisis stabilization services as part of their Emergency Response System thus creating a diversion to Emergency Department and Inpatient Psychiatric overuse and jail incarcerations. Also, learn about federal proposals on the Hill that continue to implement 988 by establishing Medicare coverage for crisis stabilization and response services.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the key federal players on the Hill and the Administration who are advancing crisis services.
Identify the latest developments of key provisions of Administrative and Congressional proposals to build out the crisis continuum; such as funding for call centers, mobile crisis teams, and stabilization facilities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of these proposals in improving mental health crisis response and provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of these proposals.
