Since 2019, Manatee County has made strides in increasing the availability of Licensed Mental Health Counselors, though it still falls below the state average. The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County has partnered with public and private sectors to expand the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) program to address the growing need for mental health support. This initiative has trained over 950 individuals from 130 organizations, equipping the community to better recognize and respond to mental health challenges. Through these partnerships, the county continues to strengthen its mental health resources.
