This presentation offers concrete strategies for mental health and substance use provider organizations to help ensure that they are fully leveraging new billing opportunities under Medicare. This includes an overview of the rising behavioral health needs among older populations; the new qualified mental health and substance use provider types that are able to enroll in and bill Medicare as of CY2024; additional staff types that can provide billable services under "incident-to" provisions; new billing opportunities that address health-related social needs; and highlighting the new Decision Support Tool updates to identify potential revenue related to new billing codes and provider types.
