Many people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and people with brain injury (BI) also have co-occurring mental health needs. Yet, states struggle to coordinate across systems and also lack the expertise, resources, and capacity to support people who require this multiple systems integration to meet their needs. There are examples of innovation across the nation aspiring to address this challenge. The Link Center, a Project of National Significance, aims to elevate this work and address the gaps and needs to advance the field in improving mental health access for people with co-occurring conditions. This presentation will highlight some of these innovations and The Link Center's efforts including opportunities and resources for mental health professionals to provide much needed services for people with disabilities who have mental health support needs.
