Nadine Akinyemi is the Chief Executive Officer of Bridging Access to Care (BAC), a leading multi-service community-based healthcare organization. With over 28 years of experience in healthcare, Nadine has a distinguished career in program development, management, research, and patient care, with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS. She has a proven track record of integrating trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and value-based care approaches into healthcare systems, leading to improved patient outcomes and organizational success.
Nadine’s expertise spans various areas, including healthcare IT, quality improvement, marketing/public relations, and resource development. Notably, she spearheaded the integration of the first trauma-informed care module into an electronic health record (EHR), ensuring the delivery of the highest quality trauma-sensitive care to clients. A strong advocate for Total Quality Management and Improvement, Nadine has designed and initiated numerous quality improvement projects that have resulted in significant program enhancements and recognition for best practices.
A certified patient advocate and published author, Nadine has also earned recognition as a highly respected voice in healthcare. She regularly presents at both local and national conferences, sharing her insights on healthcare innovation and quality services. Nadine’s leadership is characterized by her ability to cultivate strong management teams and transform organizational culture, championing a trauma-informed, value-based environment.
Beyond her executive role at BAC, Nadine serves as the Chair of the EngageWell IPA Board and is a Board member of iHealth and the Support Center. She is also a Clinical Associate at New York Technical College School of Nursing and a PhD candidate at the University of Phoenix. Nadine’s entrepreneurial mindset, strategic problem-solving, and focus on organizational growth have made her a visionary leader who excels in business development, revenue generation, and change management.
Nadine is committed to the expansion of Brooklyn-based non-profits, driving both community impact and organizational advancement. Her deep understanding of community needs, paired with her communication skills, allows her to be a highly effective spokesperson and advocate for the organizations she leads. She has been instrumental in leading agency-wide culture transformations, particularly in the adoption of trauma-informed care principles, and remains a steadfast champion of healthcare that places patients at the center.
