Rae Rivera, LCSW is the Children & Family Services Director at Access: Supports for Living. Mx. Rivera has 15 years experience in the field, including working with youth & families, adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and those with Serious Mental Illness/Serious Emotional Disturbances. They have earned post graduate certificates in Expressive Arts Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Diversity and Inclusion, and Non-Profit Management. Currently, Mx. Rivera supervises the Youth ACT Team, the Youth REACH Suicide Prevention program, and several programs that provide preventive children’s welfare services to youth who are at risk of placement in foster care and/or of adjudication. Mx. Rivera is dedicated to ensuring that people of marginalized populations receive equitable and trauma informed care and currently serves as co-chair of the Access Network's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging committee and its’ sub-committee on Trauma Informed Care. They are also a co-creator of the organization’s Social Justice Training and a trainer of the New York State Trauma Informed Network Resource Center’s Tending the Roots training. In their free time, Mx. Rivera can be found enjoying family time, reading comic books, or playing video games.
