Colby Hankey has been inspired to create new innnovative ways to deliver HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis education and prevention strategies through mindfulness and meditative practices. Having been a part of Florida HIV prevention and treatment services for the last 8 years at Aspire Health Partners, Colby has strived to create an impact in newly diagnosed cases throughout the Central Florida area. Recently, in 2023, Colby has been published in Science Direct through a NIDA clinical research publication entitled "PrEP for people who use opioids: A NIDA clinical trials network survey study in Southern U.S. cities where HIV incidence is high." This research has led to implementation of PrEP within programs and communities throughout the Southern United States.
Colby has worked in SAMHSA grants for the past 7 years, crafting, creating, and delivering new program concepts and ideas to clients in need of services and education. With a background in case management and coordination of care, Colby approaches program management through compassion, providing elevated opportunities for growth to patients and staff. In August 2024, Colby had the honors of presenting at Florida Behavioral Health Conference, a highly attended and sought after conference in Orlando Florida that brings together clinical minds throughout the nation to discuss change and connection. Colby is excited to continue to share the work he has done in his communities to NatCon25!
