Matthew J. Onorato, LISW-S serves as the Director of Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Harding Hospital and Talbot Hall and Assistant Professor-Practice in The Ohio State University (OSU) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in Columbus, Ohio. Matthew graduated with his Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Social Work degrees from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999. Prior to becoming director of behavioral health for Harding Hospital in 2018, Matthew held multiple behavioral health clinical, research, and leadership roles at the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and most recently at OSUWMC. Throughout his career, Matthew has conducted multiple BH trainings and presentations to health care professionals, patients, families, communities, and schools. Matt is credited as co-author in multiple journal articles including those in JAMA and Archives of General Psychiatry related to treatment resistant depression in adolescence. In his current role, Matthew oversees the various levels of behavioral health and substance-use disorder care activities for Harding Hospital and Talbot Hall.
