Tramaine EL-Amin currently serves as the Vice President for Mental Health First Aid USA® at the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in Washington, D.C. In this role, she leads the strategic growth of a mental health social enterprise in the United States. As a certified national trainer and social impact executive, EL-Amin has contributed to more than 3 million individuals being equipped to recognize signs and symptoms related to mental health, substance use and suicide across the country. Prior to her tenure at the National Council, she led a portfolio of health equity initiatives at the City of Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS), a publicly held behavioral health managed care organization. EL-Amin’s efforts focused on public health promotion, community engagement, legislative change management, and a strategic approach to addressing public mental health disparities for more than 1.5 million youth and adults throughout Philadelphia. EL-Amin earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arcadia University and Eastern University, respectively.
