Lisa Moon has been active in the field of social work for 35 years. She received a BSW from the University of Louisiana-Monroe, a MSW from the University of Southern Mississippi and a PhD in Social Work from Louisiana State University. She has worked in child protection, medical social work, and the mental health field where she specialized in services to children. For the past 25 years she has been teaching social work. She taught at the University of Arkansas-Monticello and Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi where she served both universities as a faculty member, director of field education and program chair. She has worked at Walden University where she served as contributing faculty member in the MSW program and as the Program Director for the BSW program. Currently, she is the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Health where she manages the School of Social Work and the School of Counseling. Her research interests are mental health services for children, issues related to caring for the elderly and educational competency. Lisa has served as a Board member for the Baccalaureate Program Directors Organization and she served 7 years as a member of the Council of Social Work Education Board of Accreditation.
