Carrah Kalat is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Aetna, a CVS Health business. In her role, Carrah is responsible for leading marketing for CVS Health’s $80B health care benefits business that serves more than 35 million members. Carrah oversees brand and product marketing, media, digital, behavior change and innovation marketing across Aetna’s Medicare, Medicaid, Individual and Employer Group Commercial businesses.
With 25 years of health care industry experience, Carrah is adept at navigating a competitive landscape, identifying opportunities, and fostering collaboration across teams to help achieve business goals. Prior to her current role, Carrah led the operations for Aetna’s Office of the President. She also held senior leadership roles in Commercial Marketing and Sales Operations. Carrah’s consumer-centric mindset and reputation for executing on critical business enablers has helped her teams support profitable growth drivers.
Carrah joined Aetna by way of Coventry Health Care. She started at Coventry in 2004 as a product manager and quickly assumed increasing responsibilities. She ascended to Vice President of Marketing and Communications, where she successfully increased membership and revenue by developing and managing new products that customers valued. Her focus included medical management, consumer-driven health care, customized wellness, COBRA, and other administration capabilities.
A passionate advocate, Carrah has spearheaded initiatives that reinforce Aetna’s commitment to diversity, women’s health, the LGBTQ community, and the eradication of mental health stigma. She further supports this mission by serving on the Board of Directors for The Quell Foundation, a non-profit organization, and through her participation on the CVS Health Foundation Board.
