Betsy Molgano has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and is working on a Master's degree in Data Science. She has been the Program Director of Mental Health First Aid Colorado (MHFACO) for over two years, where she has led the strategic implementation and sustainability efforts for the program. Her work focuses on building long-term partnerships, securing funding, and enhancing equitable access to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) across the state. Under her management, MHFACO secured a $75,000 funding increase in 2023, which enabled the expansion of Teen MHFA, resulting in the training of over 250 students. In 2024, Betsy played a key role as a subject matter expert in the legislative process for Senate Bill 2024-007, the Behavioral Health First Aid Training Bill, which aimed to expand mental health literacy throughout Colorado. Following the passage of SB 007, Betsy continued her MHFA efforts by applying to the Request for Proposal (RFP) from the state to provide MHFA services through the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC). More recently, Betsy secured the MHFA in Colorado state contract on behalf of CBHC. This contract allows for CBHC to train up to 1,400 Coloradans annually at no cost to learners. Betsy Molgano’s dedication and leadership in advancing Mental Health First Aid have made a significant impact on mental health literacy and accessibility across Colorado, demonstrating her commitment to improving community well-being through strategic initiatives and legislative advocacy.
