Dr. Virna Little is the co-founder and advisor of Concert Health, a national behavioral health medical group that provides Collaborative Care to primary care practices across 21 states. She is also the co-founder and COO of Zero Overdose, a national nonprofit dedicated to eliminating overdose events and deaths.
Previously, Dr. Little served as the director of the Center for Innovation in Mental Health at the City University of New York. Over the course of her career, she has worked extensively with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), including 22 years as senior vice president for a large FQHC network in New York, where she oversaw more than 300 behavioral health and community staff.
Dr. Little is a nationally and internationally recognized speaker, renowned for her work in integrating primary care and behavioral health, developing sustainable integrated delivery systems and advancing suicide prevention efforts. She was a member of the University of Washington AIMS Center and has served on the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s consulting team for nearly two decades. Dr. Little is also a faculty member for the national Zero Suicide initiatives and has presented on national suicide prevention strategies both internationally and at the White House.
As a consultant, Dr. Little provides technical assistance to organizations and states across the country on integrating primary care and behavioral health. She is an expert in the implementation of depression care programs and the Collaborative Care Model.
Dr. Little has received numerous awards from organizations such as the Society for Social Work Leaders in Healthcare, National Association of Social Workers, Community Health Center Network of New York, New York Suicide Prevention Committee and Collaborative Family Healthcare Association. She has served on various boards, including the Association for Clinicians for the Underserved. Currently, she serves as an advisor and trainer for the Association for Clinicians for the Underserved, Maternal Mental Health Technology Group, Management of Acute Events and Chronic Conditions Committee, and American Association of Suicidology.
Dr. Little holds a Doctoral degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Social Work, and has held credentials as a Substance Abuse Professional and Certified Care Manager.
