Priscilla Chaves is the Chief Administrative Officer of Clinical & Faculty Affairs at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University (FIU), where she collaborates closely with the Senior Associate Dean for Finance and Administration.
With over 20 years of experience in healthcare administration, Priscilla has developed deep expertise in business operations, marketing, strategic planning, managed care contracting, process improvement, and project management. Her career has been marked by her commitment to enhancing administrative processes and driving growth in healthcare settings.
Priscilla played a key role in the planning and launch of FIU Health Broward clinical practice and was instrumental in establishing the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. She has successfully led initiatives to improve employee satisfaction, promote business growth, and increase community visibility. Additionally, she has overseen departmental reorganizations, physical relocations, strategic effectiveness plans, and specialized research projects.
Before joining FIU, Priscilla held several leadership positions, including roles at Kaplan University in the School of Nursing's Admissions Department and the Strategic Alliance Organization, as well as at HCA East Florida Division, where she served as the Business Development Psychiatry Specialist and Director of Physician Relations for Psychiatry.
Priscilla holds a Master of Public Health from Florida International University and a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, where she also earned three graduate certificates in International Business, International Economics, and International Management. A Miami native, Priscilla is deeply rooted in the South Florida community.
