    B3 - Addressing the Spectrum of Mental, Emotional and Behavioral Interventions Within a Rural CCBHC

    Examine how a rural Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic incorporated substance use prevention and harm reduction intervention into their scope of practice. We will discuss how naloxone distribution was operationalized, evidence-based interventions that became standard practice, and how we engaged with affected others, those with lived experience, and community coalition members to impact treatment outcomes for people who use substances.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Discuss how naloxone distribution was operationalized throughout a rural behavioral health clinic serving nearly 15,000 people in Central Maine including screening process and brief interventions offered.
    • Explore how prevention and harm reduction specialists collaborate with treatment providers to assess the individual needs of the people they work with and implement evidence-based practices.
    • Clarify how assessing for; and working with, affected others can benefit those who use substances through utilization of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT).
