    Join us for a presentation on Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADs), led by a young adult peer support professional with personal experience using a PAD and working on a mobile crisis team. The session will cover the benefits and applications of PADs, address common barriers and misconceptions, and provide practical steps for advocacy. Hear firsthand about how using a PAD improved her trust in mental health care and potentially saved her life.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Attendees will learn strategies to advocate for peers by addressing barriers to creating Psychiatric Advance Directives such as awareness, resources and trust.
    • Attendees will explore how Psychiatric Advance Directives can increase quality of care, improve treatment outcomes and promote autonomy through a person centered approach.
    • Attendees will identify opportunities to incorporate cultural competency and awareness through the use of Psychiatric Advance Directives.
