    MHFA15 - Implementing MHFA Throughout New Mexico

    This session will explore the integration of the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) curriculum within various communities, tribes and schools across the state of New Mexico. The focus will be on the impacts of MHFA and how it can be tailored to meet the unique needs of different populations in New Mexico. Participants will gain insights into the implementation and funding strategies used, challenges faced, and success stories with implementing the curriculum. The session aims to highlight the collaborative efforts between different stakeholders, including tribal programs, education systems and communities, to ensure that MHFA is effectively implemented and sustained.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Participants will explore how the MHFA curriculum can be tailored to address the unique cultural and social needs of different populations, including tribal communities, in New Mexico.
    • Participants will gain insights into the strategies used to implement and fund MHFA programs across communities, tribes and schools, ensuring sustainability and effectiveness.
