TTED2 - Maternal Mental Health: Hearing the Cry of the Mother Whose Child Doesn’t Cry

Mental health conditions are the leading cause of maternal mortality. Add to this the complexities of grief for bereaved mothers and there is a silent crisis affecting hundreds of thousands of families in the U.S. each year, yet it is often overlooked. This presentation will weave together various artforms to share a personal stillbirth story, poignantly providing a glimpse into the beauty and darkness of motherhood. Attendees will be enlightened regarding the long-lasting complications of child loss and inspired to better support the mental health and wellbeing of bereaved parents whom they encounter in their professional and personal lives.
