Lorena Roth, LCSW, is a Senior Director for National Mental Health, Wellness and Addiction Care at Kaiser Permanente. She oversees strategic programs across all Kaiser Permanente markets aimed at improving outcomes and experience of care for Kaiser Permanente’s members, particularly those related to the clinical operations of specialty mental health and addiction medicine. Her portfolio includes workstreams related to the use of measurement-based care in outpatient settings, suicide prevention, and workforce development, including professional identity and practice to support our frontline mental health clinicians. She also serves on Kaiser Permanente’s National Mental Health, Wellness and Addiction Care leadership team.
Prior to her current role, she joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2012 at the Walnut Creek Kaiser Permanente Medical Center as a Behavioral Health Manager and subsequently served as Director where she annually met quality, service and affordability goals. She has expertise in performance improvement and led the HOPE Depression Care Value Stream, which focused on improving outcomes for adults with depression using timely, evidence-based practices. As a clinician with more than 23 years of experience in mental health, she has focused her bilingual Spanish practice on children and families working in community mental health and healthcare settings, including hospital-based services prior to joining Kaiser Permanente. Lorena earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and master's degree in social work from the University of Southern California. She is a native of Chile and currently calls the Bay Area in Northern California home.
