Dr. Joe Parks is a distinguished medical professional currently serving as the Medical Director for the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. He also holds the position of Research Professor of Science at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health, University of Missouri, St. Louis. In addition, Dr. Parks practices outpatient psychiatry at the Family Health Center, a community health center in Columbia, MO, dedicated to providing services to uninsured and underinsured patients.
Dr. Parks represents the national behavioral health sector at The Joint Commission. His past roles include serving as the Director of Missouri MO HealthNet Division (Missouri Medicaid) in the Missouri Department of Social Services, Medical Director for the Missouri Department of Mental Health in Jefferson City, and Division Director for the Division of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services.
Dr. Parks has made significant contributions to the field of medicine through his research and publications, particularly in the areas of evidence-based medicine implementation, pharmacy utilization management, integration of behavioral and general health care, and health care policy. His dedication to improving the quality of care has earned him numerous awards and recognition in the field of leadership.
