MP37 - The Caregiver of the Patient With Serious Mental Illness

The objective of this study is to develop an understanding of a group of caregivers' perceptions of severe mental illness. The investigation explores the impact on caregivers' quality of life and seeks to understand the meaning of their experiences reporting on the strategies used by them to cope with the responsibilities of their role. The study proposes the development of effective clinical services for intervention with caregivers of people diagnosed with severe mental illness. The study underscores the significance of integrating scientific research in the social sciences with public health concerns, particularly within the framework of clinical social work management.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will gain invaluable insight into the perceptions of a group of caregivers regarding the characteristics and circumstances associated with serious mental illness. This, in turn, will allow them to better serve their clients.
Provide a comprehensive analysis of the coping strategies utilized by caregivers in order to fulfill the responsibilities inherent to their role. This will allow professionals to enhance their practice.
The purpose of this poster presentation is to examine a significant topic, namely the impact of providing care for a loved one with a severe mental illness on the quality of life of the caregiver.
