La’Shonta Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years’ experience working in various capacities in the public sector. La'Shonta has worked serving formerly incarcerated individuals, families and individuals without housing, as well as youth and adults living with mental illness. Her career has been one immersed in the social service industry that afforded her the opportunity to positively impact people and change lives by dedicating herself to motivating, empowering and supporting people along their personal and professional trajectories. Through an assortment of approaches, she has helped people rebuild their lives, their families, heal, and find hope. Presently, La’Shonta serves as the Director of Student and Post-Graduate Learning at The Jewish Board where she oversees the development, implementation and operation of the Social Work Residency. Born and raised in New York City, La’Shonta graduated from Columbia University School of Social Work, where she navigated an intensive and rigorous training regimen to obtain her master's degree with honors. She is passionate about continued learning, and supporting individuals' access to resources to build the knowledge for providing competent quality care.
