Assistant Vice President, Behavioral Health Services
Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital
Newburgh, New York
Patricia (Trish) Tuber is the Assistant Vice President of Behavioral Health for Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. Ms. Tuber began her career in 1986 as a Music teacher in the special education department of the Bayonne School District in Bayonne NJ. Her passion for music has always been evident but that is where she realized that she also had a passion for helping people. She went back to school to get her MA in Counseling and Human Development from Montclair State University, Montclair, NJ in 1991. While getting her degree, she was working at East Orange General Hospital in their Crisis Intervention Unit. It was there that she developed her interest in Acute Care and hospital settings. After graduation, she was hired by Access: Supports for Living (formally Occupations, Inc.). Trish has worked in multiple settings. She was a therapist at Squire Center CDT (now PROS), a Children’s Intensive Care Manager, the Child Welfare Director, Foster Care Director, and the Reginal Director for Acute Care Services: Mobile Crisis teams and Behavioral Health Urgent Care units in Orange and Ulster Counties. Ms. Tuber believes our staff are our greatest asset. Helping our staff connect their work with the hospital’s mission is something she strives to do on a daily basis. Helping them develop their skills and abilities to use creativity and compassion in daily problem solving is a hallmark of her teaching style. In December of 2022, Ms. Tuber began her current position at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. Ms. Tuber is passionate about bringing her clinical and training skills to this very successful community-based hospital. In this increasingly complicated world, our staff need a variety of tools to effectively respond to the complex needs of our patients and their families. Ms. Tuber has brought her experience, leadership skills and collaborative nature to her work. Her hope is that by working together we can continue to improve the care patients receive across all health services.
