CN Guidance's Hope Starts Here Mobile Recovery Unit provides innovative critical access to SUD prevention, secondary prevention, and treatment services on Long Island. This session focuses on sharing replicable program design elements that have contributed to the success of our mobile recovery team: implementation of a dedicated outreach plan, peer-based supports, and community engagement to identify and establish a presence in substance use “hotspots.” Attendees will take away actionable insights into how organizations can effectively implement their own mobile recovery units as well as inspiring examples of the lives changed through this innovative form of community engagement and service.
Learning Objectives:
Identify elements of mobile prevention and recovery programming for replication in a variety of community settings
Understand the community engagement strategy employed by our successful MRU team, to define SMART goals that can help expand current strategies for trust- and coalition-building
Explore ways to adapt this program design and implementation to rural or other communities
